Linking from a "Search Everything" search

When you start your search from the Library homepage's "Search Everything" tab, you are searching all of the Library's collections at once - eBooks, journals, videos, print books, etc. There are a few resources not included  - see the exclusion list.

When you find an item of interest, you can copy the Permalink for the item by clicking the Permalink icon in the results list. The Permalink will lead to the record for the item.

Start your search by entering keywords in the search box on the Library homepage.

If you would like to link to the item itself - i.e., the actual online article or eBook, you will need to use the instructions in this guide. Here are the steps to get to that stage:

  1. Conduct a search and locate an item.
  2. From the results list, click the title to see the full record.
  3. In the full record, click the link under View Online - Availability. Note: If you have not yet signed in and you are not on-campus, you will be prompted to log in with your 9-digit Employee ID and password.

You will be linked directly to the item. From here, locate the Permalink. The process for locating the permalink is different for each type of database. Use the steps in the left side menu to determine how to locate the permalink in the database in which your resource resides.
