- LibGuides
LibGuides are a content management and information sharing system designed specifically for Libraries. They contain curated resources for selected Mohawk College programs.
Note: It is recommended that you make a note of the Research Guide to be embedded before beginning the process. This will ensure you do not have to switch from MyCanvas to the Research Guide when adding the content. Note that it is possible to embed guide content at the module level in MyCanvas (but not directly into a page in MyCanvas.)
How to Embed a Full Research Guide
Navigate to a Module in a course and click on the plus icon
From the dropdown menu choose External Tool
Click on the Mohawk College Library Guides 1.3 option.
Ensure that the Load in a new tab option is not checked. Click on the Add Item button.
Click the module that you just created.
The Module page will open. Choose Full LibGuide for the Content Type
Choose a Guide to embed from the dropdown list
Selecting a Landing Page is optional. The default Landing page will be the first page in the guide.
Click on the Embed Content button
Return to the Course Modules view. Click the meatball menu next to the module title for the module just added and choose "Edit". Edit the title, indent if desired and click the Update button, to complete the process.
How to Embed a Research Guide Page
Navigate to a Module in a course and click on the plus icon
From the dropdown menu choose External Tool
Click on the Mohawk College Library Guides 1.3 option

The Module page will open. Choose Single Page for the Content Type
Choose a Guide from the dropdown list
Choose a Guide Page to embed from the dropdown list
Click on the Embed Content button
Return to the Course Modules view. Click the meatball menu next to the module title for the module just added and choose "Edit". Edit the title, indent if desired and click the Update button, to complete the process.
How to Embed a Research Guide Box
Navigate to a Module in a course and click on the plus icon

Click on the Mohawk College Library Guides 1.3 option

The Module page will open. Choose Content Box for the Content Type
Choose a Guide from the dropdown list
Select a Guide Page from the dropdown menu
Choose a Box to embed from the dropdown list
Click on the Embed Content button
Return to the Course Modules view. Click the meatball menu next to the module title for the module just added and choose "Edit". Edit the title, indent if desired and click the Update button, to complete the process.
