Borrowing
Students: A valid ONE Card (Student ID) is required to borrow items from the Library. Continuing Education and part-time students have the same borrowing privileges as full-time students.
Faculty & Staff: A valid Employee ID card is required to borrow items from the Library. Contact us to verify your account.
Alumni: A valid Perks Account is required to borrow items from the Library.
Community Borrowers: A valid Community Borrower Card is required to borrow items from the Library.
Borrowing Information
Check Out
Items can be checked out at the Customer Service Desk at any Library location.
Check In
Items can be returned to the Customer Service Desk at any Library location. Borrow from one campus Library and return to another! A drop chute is located outside the Cummings Library for books returned after hours.
Items from the regular STACK collection can be renewed for an additional 14 days if no hold exists for the item. Items from the Course Reserve collection are not renewable but may be borrowed again after a 24 hour interval.
To renew items you have borrowed from the Library:
- Log into your Library account by clicking on the Library Account Login button located at the top of any Library webpage.
- You can also log into your account by clicking on the Sign in button in the Library Catalogue.
- Use your 9-digit student or employee ID and password, Example: 000101060@mohawkcollege.ca, to log in
- Once logged in select Loans from your My Library Card menu
- Select all items you want to renew and click Renew or click Renew All
- Your items should now have a new due date
Note: You will not be able to renew items if someone else has placed a request for the item, or if you have reached your renewal limit on the item.
- Books & videos from the regular STACK collection: 14 days
- Course Reserves: 2 hours per day, 3 days and Overnight loans
- Calculators: Same day loan
- USB to Lightning charger and adaptor: 4 hour loans
- USB to USB-C charger and adaptor: 4 hour loans
- A valid ONE Card, Staff ID, Perks Card or Community Borrower Card must be presented at the Customer Service Desk in order to borrow items from the collection
- Borrowed items must be returned or renewed by the due date
- Users are responsible for any item signed out on their account
- If an item is damaged, lost or stolen, a replacement cost and a processing fee will be applied to your Library account and borrowing privileges will be suspended
Hamilton Public Library (HPL) Bookmobile
The Hamilton Public Library (HPL) Bookmobile is a mobile library branch bringing leisure reading, popular books and more directly to the Fennell campus. Come out to the Bookmobile to find your next great read!
When: Mondays 12:00pm - 1:00pm
Where: Fennell Campus, North side of David Braley Athletic & Recreation Centre (DBARC)
Note: The Bookmobile service is currently closed for the year. Service will resume on January 13, 2025.
