How to Link to Videos
- Academic Video Online
Multidisciplinary video database. Covers everything from anthropology to zoology. Includes documentaries, interviews, feature films, performances, news programs, newsreels and demonstrations.
- Perform a search in the AVON database and select a video.
- Click on the Share icon.
- Copy the link and add it to your MyCanvas course.
- CBC Curio
Streaming video and audio database from the CBC and Radio Canada. Contains documentaries, radio and TV content including Doc Zone, Dragons Den and News in Review. Includes documentaries, news, drama, teacher's guides and more.
- Perform a search in the Curio database and select a video.
- Click on the Permalink button.
- Copy the URL from the Permalink box and add it to your MyCanvas course.

- Paste the URL into the EZproxy Permalink Generator.
- Copy the link and add it to your MyCanvas course.
- Common Craft
Contains a library of 120 videos designed to explain complicated subjects quickly. Includes a collection of cut-outs for use in presentations, training materials and videos.
- Perform a search in the Common Craft database and select a video.
- Copy the URL from the address bar and add it to your MyCanvas course.

Embedding Common Craft Videos
Common Craft videos can also be embedded in MyCanvas, but you must be onsite when grabbing the embed code in order for the videos to work properly.
- Access the Common Craft database from the A-Z Database list
- Choose a video to add to your guide by clicking on the image
- Click on the Show Captions button to add captions to the video
- You will know that they are enabled when the video title notes the captioning and the button has changed to Hide Captions
- Click on the Embed button and copy the code
- Use the embed option in MyCanvas to add the video to your course
- Criterion On-Demand
Online video database. Contains feature films, classics, foreign films & documentaries from major producers, including, Paramount, Warner Bros., 20th Century Fox, and many more. Titles include English, French and Subtitled/Captioned versions.
- Perform a search in the Criterion database and select a video.
- Copy the link from the address bar of the browser e.g., Firefox, Edge, Chrome.
- Add the link to your MyCanvas course.

- Copy the link and add it to your MyCanvas course.
- Films on Demand
Multidisciplinary video database. Contains thousands of documentary and educational videos from a wide variety of producers, such as the BBC, National Geographic, PBS, and TED.
- Perform a search in the Films on Demand database and select a video.
- Click on the Share button.
- Choose the Embed/Link Tab and copy the URL from the Record URL box.

- Copy the link and add it to your MyCanvas course.
- LinkedIn Learning
An online educational platform that helps you discover and develop business, technology-related, and creative skills through expert-led course videos. View the LinkedIn Learning guide for more information.
To link to a LinkedIn Learning resource in your course, while editing a course page, click the "Apps" icon in the navigation bar and choose LinkedIn Learning from the menu that appears. Search LinkedIn Learning and select the video you would like and click the "Confirm" button. For assistance, please connect with your Liaison Librarian.
- National Film Board
Canadian public film and digital media database. Coverage spans a wide range of subject areas. Includes documentary films, animation, web documentaries, and alternative dramas in both English and French.
- Perform a search in the National Film Board database and select a video.
- Copy the link from the address bar of the browser e.g., Firefox, Edge, Chrome.
- Add it to your MyCanvas course.

CAMPUS Account
Faculty may register for a CAMPUS account on the NFB website. A CAMPUS account gives faculty the ability to create and share playlists, access educator guides and lessons, create chapters, etc. To create a CAMPUS account, reach out to the Library for the required "token URL" and instructions.
- ProQuest Nursing and Allied Health
Contains a diverse mix of scholarly literature, clinical training videos, reference materials, and evidence-based resources, including dissertations and systematic reviews.
- Perform a search in ProQuest and select a video.
- Click on the All Options icon on the right hand side of the page.
- Copy the link at the top of the page and add it to your MyCanvas course.
- Videatives
Online streaming video collection of short videos intended for teachers and college students that support the understanding of young children. Note: Does not work on mobile devices, Chrome is the recommended browser.
- Go to Videatives Database and select the tab near the top of the page that says 'My Playlists'.
- Select the link near the bottom of page - 'Create a new playlist'.
- Create a playlist - give it a name, for example 'Childcare 2018'.
- Tick the box that says 'Public'.
- Click 'Create'.
- Go back to the home page and click on the title of the video you want to share.
- Under the video on the left hand side, you will see a box that says 'Add this video to a playlist'.
- Select your playlist name from the drop down and then click the 'Add to Playlist' button.
- Go back to the 'My Playlists' tab; select the playlist and click the 'Share' link. A URL will appear - copy and share this URL.

Steps to link to a video
Please note: The below instructions work only when finding a video within the O'Reilly Learning Platform and not when locating a resource using the Library's Search Everything tool.
- Search O'Reilly for a video by entering a search term and then clicking "video" in the left-hand side Browse format box.
- Copy the URL from the browser address bar
- To front of URL add: https://go.oreilly.com/mohawkcollege-ca/
- To the end of your new URL add ?ar
- Your new URL will look like this:
