Overview
- Films on DemandThe Films on Demand database contains thousands of documentary and educational videos from a wide variety of producers, such as the BBC, National Geographic, PBS, and TED.
Note: To save time and ensure that you are embedding the correct video, perform a search in the Films on Demand database before searching for content within MyCanvas. You will then have the title of the video and can search for it directly when using the app.
How To Embed an FOD Video
Navigate to the Course and Page in MyCanvas where you want to add Films on Demand content and click on the Edit button.
Click on Tools in the editor and select the Apps option, then View All.
OR
Click on the Apps option in the toolbar and select View All.
Note: If you have embedded Films on Demand content in your courses previously, the option will appear automatically.
Click on the Films on Demand option. A box will open containing a search field. Enter the title of the video or keywords into the box and click on the Search button.

A list of search results will appear. Use the Filters to refine your search by selecting items from the dropdown menus and clicking the Apply button. To embed a video click on the Embed button and select a size.
The video will appear on the page. To complete the embedding process, click on the Save button.
How to Embed an FOD Video Link
Follow steps 1-3 in the How To Embed an FOD Video box above.
A list of search results will appear. Use the Filters to refine your search by selecting items from the dropdown menus and clicking the Apply button. To embed a video link click on the Embed button and select Record URL.
Copy the Record URL from the box by clicking on the Copy button.
Return to your page and click on the Link button and choose External Links.
Add the title of the video to the Text field. Add the URL that you copied to the Link field and click on Done.
The link will appear on the page. Click on the Save button to complete the process.
