Alumni & Community Borrowers


Alumni Borrowers: graduates of Mohawk College certificate, graduate certificate, diploma, collaborative degree and applied degree programs.

Community Borrowers: local area residents and visitors to Mohawk College for events and workshops.

Alumni Borrowers

Download the free Alumni Perks app to apply for a Mohawk Alumni Perks account. Once your Perks account has been approved by the Alumni Department, visit any Library Customer Service Desk or send an email to library@mohawkcollege.ca to create your Library Account.

Note: Allow 24 hours for your Perks account to be verified and approved. 

Library Login Credentials

The barcode in the Perks app is your Library Account username. You will be asked to enter a password of your choosing when creating your account at the Customer Service Desk.

Recent Graduates

Students who have recently graduated will need to wait until the graduation list has been shared with the Alumni Office before applying for a Perks account. Typical dates are around Convocation in June and October. For more information, contact the Mohawk Alumni office

To borrow items from the regular STACK collection, present your virtual Perks card within the Perks app at the Customer Service Desk. The borrowing of Course Reserves (high demand items) is not available.

  • A maximum of two items can be borrowed at a time
  • Loan duration is 14 days

To place a hold on an item, perform a search in the Library Catalogue. Once you have found an item that you would like to borrow, follow the instructions on the Holds & Requests page to complete the process.

To access Library Databases on campus via the computers in the Library, visit the IT Help Desk to receive temporary login credentials.

To access Library Databases on campus via personal devices, visit the IT Help Desk to receive temporary login credentials for the Mohawk Wi-Fi.

Note:

  • Access duration is for 24 hours and must be obtained each time you visit.
  • Off-site access to the Library's licensed databases is not available to Alumni Borrowers.

Recent Graduates

Recent graduates will retain access to Library Databases, Mohawk email accounts and MyMohawk for one year after the date of their last class.

Alumni Borrowers are permitted to use Library computers during non-peak times for limited periods. During peak times, you may be asked to log off for students in need of a computer for academic purposes.

Note:

  • Alumni Borrowers must visit the IT Help Desk to receive temporary login credentials in order to use the computers in the Library. 
  • Printing from Library computers or personal devices is not available to Alumni Borrowers.

Community Borrowers

Members of the local community can register for a Library Account to borrow items from the collection. To create an account, visit any Library Customer Service Desk and present one piece of Photo ID to confirm your home address. The fee for a one year Community Borrower Card is $30.

Note: Payment for Community Borrower Cards must be made at the Registrar's Office. 

Library Login Credentials

Library Staff will create your Library Account username and issue you a Library Card. You will be asked to enter a password of your choosing when creating your account at the Customer Service Desk.

Community Borrowers must visit the Customer Service Desk for each visit to receive temporary login credentials in order to use the computers in the Library.

Note: Printing from Library computers or personal devices is not available to Community Borrowers.

Community Borrowers cannot be given login credentials to access the Mohawk Wi-Fi.
