How to Find Articles

Magazine, Journal and Newspaper articles can be found in the Library's online databases. No login is required to access our databases on campus. If you are off-campus, you will need to log in with your 9-digit MohawkID number and password. Full details can be found on the Off-Campus Access page.

Find an Article

  1. Go to the Library Homepage and enter some search terms or a title into the search box. Make sure that the Search Everything button is selected and click the Search button. example of an article search from the homepage

  2. Your results list will be a mix of books, eBooks, etc. To refine your results to articles only, click on the Show More link under Source Types. example of using source types to limit to articles

  3. Check off limiters to ensure that your search results will all be articles and click on Update. example of limiting source types to articles

  4. You can see which limiters have been applied under Source Types. You can read the article by clicking on the HTML Full Text or PDF Full Text links. In some cases, you will see the Get the full text of this article link. This is a Full Text Finder link and involves a few extra steps to get to the article.
