Remote Control

Zoom allows you to take control of another meeting participant's screen using the Remote Control feature.


  • The Zoom Desktop Client for Windows, Mac or Linux.
  • IPad with the Zoom Mobile App.
  • For Webinar use, must be the host, co-host or a panelist.

Requesting Remote Control Access

You can request remote control access while viewing a meeting host or participant's screen share.

  1. Click on View Options in the top right of the toolbar
  2. Click on Request Remote Control

  3. Click Request

  4. Click inside the screen to start controlling the screen

To stop remote controlling a screen follow the steps below:

  1. In the top right of the toolbar, click on View Options
  2. Click Give up Remote Control

When you are screen sharing, you can give remote control access to another participant in the meeting.

  1. Click on Remote Control
  2. Select a participant to give control to

To stop giving remote control access, follow the steps below:

  • Click on Stop Share
