What is Revit?

Revit LogoRevit is an industry-leading Building Information Modeling (BIM) software developed and marketed by Autodesk. Its purpose is to allow architects, designers, builders, and other construction professionals to work together on different aspects of a shared project collaboratively.

Revit 2021 System Requirements

Component Minimum Requirements
Operating System Any of the following:
  • Windows 10 (64-bit only, 1803 or higher)
  • Windows 8.1 (64-bit only)
  • Windows 7 SP1 (64-bit only)
Note: Starting with Autodesk 2020 and later, there is no 32-bit version available.
Memory 8 GB RAM
Video Adapter DirectX® 11 capable graphics card with at least 1 GB of graphics memory
Disk Space 6.3 GB free disk space
Connectivity Internet connection for license registration and installation only

Note: Revit 2018 has a more complex install process than 2019, 2020, or 2021. If you are required to install 2018 for a class, follow these instructions, otherwise, it is easier to install Revit 2019, 2020, or 2021.

Select Revit 2018 version and download
Accept the Download Manager license
Accept data collection policy screen

The default location is C:\Autodesk
After you click "OK", the Download Manager will begin downloading the appropriate files. After they finish, you will be prompted with Step 6.
