Test Before Submitting an Assignment

Use Turnitin to help you check your written work for improper citation or potential plagiarism. After you submit your essay, Turnitin will generate a Similarity (Originality) Report, which highlights matches between your essay/paper and other sources, flagging passages that require better paraphrasing or referencing.

Follow these steps:

  1. Register for the Digital Skills Toolkit Course found under Open Courses in MyCanvas.
  2. In the Assignments tool, find the folder labelled: Turnitin: Check Before Submitting Your Assignment.
  3. Submit your file using the Submit Assignment button.

NOTE: When you use the Turnitin folder your papers are not deposited to Turnitin’s repository.
